Jere L. Litwiler, 81, of New Windsor, IL passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at home. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Burial is in the New Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, New Windsor Cemetery Maintenance and Improvements Fund, Tri-County Ambulance or the New Windsor Public Library.
She was born July 26, 1940 in Galesburg, IL to Ralph and Marion Shroyer Keck. She graduated from Winola High School in 1958 and completed her secretarial education in Omaha, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Robert Litwiler on May 29, 1959 in New Windsor. He passed away June 3, 1977.
Jere retired as a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal.
She was a lifelong member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Jere enjoyed getting together with her class of 1958 girls and card club. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and her family.
Survivors include her children, Deanna (Randy) Spivey of Alpha; Todd Litwiler of New Windsor; Jesse (Molly) Litwiler of Matherville; daughter-in-law, Kathi Litwiler of Woodhull; 8 grandchildren, Shawn (Liz) Stoneking, Hope (Tyler) Dykman, Seth (Amy) Spivey, Ashley (Ryan) Whitehead, Donnie Litwiler, Payton (Arlene) Litwiler, Morgan Litwiler, Bryce Litwiler;
9 great grandchildren and two lovingly expected; sister, Joan Metzner of Alpha; brother, Steven Keck of Victoria, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Jere was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bob Litwiler and brother, Bill Keck.
