Idamae Kendall Kelly, 96, of Aledo, IL died Saturday, July 17, 2021 at SunnyBrook in Muscatine, Iowa. Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is noon until the time of services Saturday where memorials may be left to the Mercer County VFW Post 1571 or Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian Church Women’s Auxiliary. Idamae was born April 14, 1925 in Hamlet, IL to Meigs and Winifred Boyles Kendall. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1943 and attended nursing school in Moline. She married Robert L. Kelly Oct. 13, 1946 in Hamlet, IL. He died March 26, 2006.
She worked at The HON Company in Muscatine, Iowa from 1961 until her retirement in 1982.
Idamae was a longtime member of Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time sewing, quilting, cooking, reading and watching the Cubs. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Janice (Don) Workman of Illinois City, IL, Patricia Kelly of Danville, IN, Kendall (Mary) Kelly of Cedar Falls, IA, and Lynn Bowden of Sherrard, IL; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great- great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
Idamae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kristin Kellums, brothers, Mark and Blaine Kendall, sisters, Larene Lingafelter and Drucilla Martin; granddaughter, Alisha Verbeke Church, sons-in-law, Steven Bowden and Bruce Kellums, nieces, Drucilla Martin Clark and Cynthia Kendall, nephews, David Kendall and Kevin Martin.
