M. Virginia Sirotnak, 95, of Aledo, IL, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Genesis Senior Living in Aledo. Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Buffalo Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at Fippinger's where memorial may be left to Genesis Senior Living in Aledo. She was born January 30, 1920 in Streator, IL, to John and Sarah Boyd Cameron. She graduated from Streator High School. On June 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Albert J. Sirotnak in DeKalb, IL. He died in 1968.
Virginia was employed as a school secretary for 17 years. She began her career at New Boston Elementary School and Westmer Junior High. She retired in 1983 from the North Lawn Junior High School in Streator.
She was a member of the Keithsburg Christian Church and the Central Church of Christ in Streator. Virginia attended First Baptist Church in Aledo. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, yard work, flowers, traveling and playing golf.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie (Blaine) Braucht of Joy, IL, 2 grandchildren, Morgan (Laura) Braucht of Jacksonville, IL, Jared Braucht of Joy, IL, 1 great granddaughter, Clara Braucht and 2 step-great grandchildren, Victoria and Jacob Covell, all of Jacksonville, IL.
Her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
