Thomas William Sanders

Thomas William Sanders, 73, of Woodhull, Illinois passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. The funeral service will be Friday, June 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Interment will be at the Woodhull Cemetery. Tom was born January 31, 1950 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Gerald “Buck” and Jane Hughes Sanders. He married Rhonda Lou Randall on October 13, 1967 in Palmyra, Missouri.

Tom began his career as a mechanic in 1967 with Luallen Chevrolet in Woodhull, and later the Woodhull Ford dealership. In 1979 opened the Woodhull Auto Repair which he owned and operated until retirement.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Sanders of Woodhull; 3 children, Tory (Scott) Garrett, Shanie (Lindsey) Sanders-Brown, and Chad (Dawn) Sanders all of Woodhull; 6 grandchildren, Haleigh (Jake) McLean, Hannah Garrett, Anthoney Brown, Keegan (Mackenzie Coziahr) Brown, Emma Keeton, Liam Sanders; and 2 great-grandchildren, Margarrett and Amelia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald “Buck” and Jane Sanders; and 2 sisters, Wanda Raisbeck and Linda Wilson.
