Robert L. Litwiler, 52, of Woodhull, IL, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 surrounded by his family at home. Cremation has been accorded. Friends and family are invited to a gathering from 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Clover Township Fire Station in Woodhull. Private burial will be at a later date. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Clover Township Fire Department or the Woodhull Cemetery Association and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.
He was born April 6, 1961 in Moline, IL to Bob and Jere Lynn Keck Litwiler. Robert attended Winola Schools. He married Kathleen Johnson June 17, 1989 in Woodhull, IL.
He was employed as a painter at the Alexis Fire Equipment Company.
Robert was a former fireman and first responder for Clover Township and a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and attending his grandchildren's events. He was a Civil War enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife: Kathi; two stepsons including: Todd (Joelle) Johnson of Woodhull, IL; 6 grandchildren: Kyle, Chad, Jordan, Britta, Emma and Shea; his mother: Jere Litwiler of New Windsor, IL; grandmother, Marian Keck of New Windsor, IL. one sister: Deanna (Randy) Spivey of Alpha, IL; 2 brothers: Todd Litwiler of New Windsor, IL; Jesse (Molly) Litwiler of Matherville, IL; several nieces and nephews.
His father preceded him in death.
