Phyllis J. Johnson, 93, of Williamsburg, Virginia, formerly of Woodhull, Illinois died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Edgeworth Park in Williamsburg. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Woodhull Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be left to Bethany Lutheran Church, Woodhull Cemetery or Tri-County Ambulance. Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull is in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis was born June 3, 1928 in Muscatine, Iowa to Clair and Estelle Daugherty McIntyre. She married Merlin L. Johnson November 7, 1948 in New Windsor. He died March 2009.
Phyllis was a homemaker and assisted her husband in their farming operation. She was employed for many years at Peterson Wallin Knox, retiring 1993. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. For many years, Phyllis was a girl scout leader. She enjoyed bowling, painting, photography, bird-watching and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Dennis) Sharp of Williamsburg, VA; a son, Kent Johnson of Woodhull; four grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary, three brothers, Leslie, Bill and Roger.
