Patsy J. Glenn, 80, of Aledo, IL, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. Services are 10:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2012 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, IL. Burial is in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Fippinger's. Memorials may be left to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Aledo. On-line condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

She was born June 18, 1932 in Sparta, IL, a daughter of Eugene and Roberta McQuarter Lindsay. She graduated from Sparta High School and married James Glenn February 15, 1951 in Sparta, IL. He died March 5, 2012.

Patsy owned and operated Midway 66 Gas Station in Aledo, having been the first female in the State of Illinois to operate a service station. She cooked and waitressed at several area restaurants, including Lucille's and was employed by the Mercer County Senior Center. For many years, she was "Grandma Patsy" at the Mercer County YMCA, where she was employed in childcare watch.

She was a member of the American Legion Fallerans Post 121 Auxiliary, Mercer County VFW Post 1571 Auxiliary, Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary and taught Sunday School and youth group for many years. She loved to fellowship at McDonald's, play cards and babysat.

She is survived by two daughters: Susan Kenney of Aledo; Sara (Randy) Ott of Milan; two sons: William (Linda) Glenn of Aledo; Tom (Amy) Glenn of Monmouth; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother: Robert L. Lindsay of Racine, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons: David and Gerald; and one sister: Portia.
