Pamela E. Bateman, 61, of Sherrard, IL, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Services are 2 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Alpha United Methodist Church. Burial is in the New Windsor Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 PM Monday at the Alpha United Methodist Church where memorials may be made to the Alpha United Methodist Church. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

She was born December 30, 1951 in San Bernardino, CA to Dean and Helen Simkins Foster. She graduated from Winola High School in 1970 and attended Blackhawk College. She married Robert Bateman June 3, 1972 in Alpha, IL.

Pamela was employed by the Henry County Farm Bureau Print Shop, Henry County Cooperative Extension and New Windsor Grain Elevator Co., New Windsor Telephone Company. Most recently, she was secretary/receptionist at South Park Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of the Alpha United Methodist Church, having served in the choir and as a Sunday School teacher and many other positions. For many years, she was a Girl Scout leader and a Befriender at Trinity Medical Center. She enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Alzheimer's Association and was chairman of the art department at the New Windsor Fair. Pamela sang in the "Belles" group in the local area.

Pamela enjoyed boating, tea parties, telling stories and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband: Bob; two daughters: Emily (Eddie) Bradshaw of New Windsor, IL; Beth (Philip) Brinkmeyer of Rowlett, TX; 3 grandchildren: Delainey and Ella Bradshaw; Benjamin Brinkmeyer and one lovingly expected; one honorary sister: Linda Hansen of San Joaquin, CA; special dog: Lilly; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one honorary sister: Donna Lincoln.
