Norma Stroud

Norma L. Stroud, 88, of Woodhull, IL, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at home. Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Burial is in the Woodhull Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Henry County 4H and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

She was born December 4, 1926 in Hoopeston, IL to Ernest and Virtue Stites Tucker. She graduated from Galva High School. Norma married Charles Marion Oliver Stroud on March 2, 1945 in Victoria, IL. He died November 17, 1979.

Norma was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm. She was employed as a cashier at Jumer's in Galesburg and The Homestead in Woodhull, retiring in 2008. She was also employed at Pioneer in Woodhull.

For many years, she was a leader at the Henry County Roughriders 4H Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Vickie (Al) Hayden of Dahinda, IL, two sons, Don (Evelyn) Stroud and Terry Stroud, all of Woodhull, two grandchildren, Heather (Andy) Galbreath of Galesburg and Amy (Pete) Spencer of Edmond, OK, 4 great grandchildren, Hayden and Aubrey Galbreath, Eileen and Elliot Spencer, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Gloria Cross and one brother, Dick Tucker.
