Michael Dillie

October 15, 1948 — September 5, 2013

Michael D. Dillie, 64, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, peacefully at home. Masonic and Military Services are 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. prior to services Tuesday at Fippinger's. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established and online condolences may be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

Michael was born October 15, 1948 in Rock Island, IL to Ernest and Rosetta Kenney Dillie. He graduated from Aledo High School. He married Judy Schrock August 11, 1968 in Aledo, IL. Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972.

He was employed at John Deere for ten years and owned and operated a welding shop in Joy for 12 years before becoming disabled in 1996.

He was a member of Twin Rivers Bass Association and the New Boston Masonic Lodge. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildrens' activities.

He is survived by his wife: Judy of Joy; four daughters: Patty Kugler (Cardie Carnes) of Monmouth, IL; Deb (Todd) Ryckeghem; Terri (Todd) Heath, all of Joy, IL; Shelly (Jeff) Bird of Camp Hill, PA; one son: Mike (Amy) Dillie of Muscatine, IA; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his mother: Rosetta Dillie of Spooner, WI; 3 brothers: Dan (Fawn) Dillie of Davenport, IA; Larry (Roxanne) Dillie of Glendale, AZ; Ernie (Terry) Dillie of Joy, IL; and one sister: Gloria (Mark) Thompson of Trego, WI.

His father and two grandchildren: Alex and Austin preceded him in death.
