Lyman Walter Loveless, age 86, of Aledo, IL, formerly of Hazelwood, MO, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2012 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Visitation is 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where memorials may be left to St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo. He was born June 25, 1926 in Newark Valley, NY to Harry and Clara Thomas Loveless. He married Therese M. Kleitz November 10, 1945 in Binghamton, NY. She died September 28, 2000.

Lyman was a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran. He was an Underwater Demolition Team Member which was the precursor to the Navy Seals.

He was employed as a laboratory research technician for Monsanto for many years, retiring in 1984. Lyman was a former Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed bowling, roller skating, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their activities.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Nancy (Rich) Hinrichs of Greeley, CO, Rachel Payne of St. Charles, MO, 2 sons, Gary (Jill) Loveless of Westin, MO, Charles (Jan) Loveless of Aledo, Il, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

His parents, wife, one brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
