Bub was born on February 26, 1946 in Moline, IL to Hubert and Doris (Brown) Nimrick. Bub met the love of his life at the Alpha Roller Rink. Bub and Daleen (Swanson) married in North Henderson on September 19, 1964.
He retired from the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline in 1994 after 30 years, reaching his goal of 48 and out the gate! After retirement, Bub filled his free time raising cattle, hunting and fishing, playing cards with the Rio gang, helping the Swansons at harvest, looking for the perfect yard sale bargain, reselling those bargains at the Rutledge Flea Market, and cheering on his grandkids at all of their events! Bub also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson.

He was a youth softball coach in New Windsor; served on the New Windsor Village Board; was a lifelong director and past president of the New Windsor Rodeo; past president of the Petrie Cemetery Board; Santa at the New Windsor Christmas Walk and a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church.
