Leonard Olson

Leonard M. Olson, 91 of Oneida, IL died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg. Services are 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull. Burial is in the Woodhull Cemetery where graveside military services will be conducted. There is no visitation. Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull is in charge of services. He was born September 28, 1926 in Oneida, IL to Melvin and Florence Thulin Olson. He graduated from Oneida High School. Leonard was united in marriage to Gladys Rehn February 28, 1954 in Woodhull, IL.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Philippines from 1944-1945.
Leonard farmed the family farm in Oneida, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Miles S. Sturgeon American Legion Post 546.
He enjoyed woodworking and building and flying radio controlled airplanes.

Survivors include his wife: Gladys; one daughter: Anne Olson of Davenport, Iowa; one son: John (Nancy) Olson of Broken Arrow, OK; one grandson: Matthew; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
