LaVerne Anderson

LaVerne "Bud" Anderson, 82, of New Windsor, Illinois died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Unity-Point Health in Rock Island. Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be at a later date and there is no visitation. Memorials may be left to the New Windsor Presbyterian Church and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknoxfuneralhome.com.

He was born March 5, 1932 in Moline, Illinois to LaVerne and Myrtle Nimrick Anderson. Bud attended a one-room schoolhouse in Warner, Illinois and Sherrard schools. On June 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Dolly D. Spivey in New Windsor, Illinois.

Bud worked the family farm in Swedona prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army. He received a mechanical engineering and drafting degree from Bradley University in Peoria.

He continued to farm for many years and was employed as an engineer draftsman at John Deere Harvester in East Moline.

He was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, trustee, lay pastor, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. Bud enjoyed gardening, working on engines of all kinds, engaging in theological and current event discussions and especially being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly; one daughter, Trisha (Roy) Webb of Canton, Illinois; four sons, Tim (Amy) Anderson of Viola; Todd (Deborah) Anderson of Macon, Missouri; Troy (Lisa) Anderson of Dewitt, Iowa; Trent Anderson of Palm Coast, FL; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with one lovingly expected; three sisters, Twila Kirby of McKinney, TX; Bessie (Allen) Lynn of Moline, IL; Sheila (Jerry) Bryan of Sherrard, IL; several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.
