Laurie J. Sutton

Laurie J. Sutton, 60 of Alpha, Illinois passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. The service and burial are private. Laurie was born December 23, 1962 in Pueblo, Colorado.  Her parents were Gary Johnson and Sharon Fluke Shearer.  She graduated from AlWood High School in 1981.    

She was a coordinator for Krisdala Baka Rest Area.

Laurie enjoyed painting, genealogy, animals and reading.

Survivors include her children, Paul Sproston of Eldridge, Iowa; Heather Vorva (Brian) of Oneida; Cody Sproston of Alpha; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Abel, Eliza and Iyla; mother, Sharon Shearer of East Moline; father, Gary Johnson of Woodhull; siblings, Sarah Blaisdell of Rockton, Illinois; Andy (Lisa) Johnson of East Moline; aunts, Kathie Fluke of Minnesota; Carole (Joe) Petranovich of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Amanique; two grandchildren; grandmother, Isabel Horn.
