Larry Peterson

Larry E. Peterson, 77 of New Windsor, IL died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 in the Hopewell Cemetery, New Windsor, Illinois where graveside military rites will be conducted. There is no visitation. He was born May 18, 1941 in Galesburg, IL to Clarence and Marjorie Hanson Peterson. Larry graduated from Winola High School and attended diesel mechanic school in Chicago. He married Judith L. Brown.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 101st airborne division. He was employed at International Harvester in East Moline in various positions, retiring in 1992.

He was an avid trap shooter and professionally raced motorcycles in his early days.

Survivors include one daughter: Sherry Hergert of Moline, Illinois; one son: Brad (Tonette May) Peterson of Ellsworth, Wisconsin; two grandchildren: Brent and Andrea; four step-grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; one brother: Roger (Carol) Peterson of Galena, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

His parents and one brother: Gary preceded him in death.
