Joyce Devlin

Joyce I. Devlin, 84, of New Windsor, Illinois died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Burial is in the New Windsor Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Tri-County Ambulance or the New Windsor Presbyterian Church and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

Joyce was born September 28, 1932 in Avon, Illinois to Albert and Vera Johnson Leafgreen. She graduated from ROVA High School in 1950. On December 2, 1950, she married Cletus M. Devlin in Nashua, Iowa.

She was employed as a cook at the Winola School District and the Sherrard High School, retiring in 1995. During the summers, she worked in the office at Shady Lakes Campground.

Joyce was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, taking care of her home and especially being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus; one daughter Cleta (Kirby) Willems of New Windsor; three sons, Bruce Devlin of New Windsor; Ron (Kathy) Devlin of Galesburg; Kevin (Wende) Devlin of Rio; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; three sisters, Kay (Robert) Thompson of New Windsor; Sherrie (Dick) Taylor of Woodhull; Joby (Don) Eiker of Lexington; several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and one sister, Vivian Allison preceded her in death.
