Joy E. Ball, 85, of Aledo, IL, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Genesis Senior Living Center in Aledo. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services are 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Burge Cemetery in New London, Iowa. Memorials may be left to the Genesis Senior Living Activity Department and online condolences may be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
She was born June 4, 1928 in New London, Iowa to Guy and Charlotte Wellington Ball. She graduated from New London High School and never married.
Joy was employed at Sheaffer Pen Company for 38 years, retiring from the merchandising return department in 1990.
She was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sisters: Betty Traxler of TX; Sadie Day of Arlington, IA; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Merle and Gene Ball; and one sister: Ruth Heldt.
