John C. "J.C." Willis age 67 of Rio, Illinois died Monday March 2, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral Services are 4:30 PM Sunday March 8, 2015 at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, IL. Private Burial will be at a later date. He was born March 9, 1947 in Roodhouse, IL to Otis and Betty Osborne Willis. He attended the Sherrard Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Vietnam War. On March 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Judith P. Young in Swedona, IL
JC was an over the road truck driver for 47 years most recently being employed at RUAN in Muscatine, Iowa. He enjoyed putting together model ships, hunting, fishing, and being with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Judy 2 daughters, Carey (Andy) Bancroft of Pooler, GA, Jennifer (Bill) Faulkner of Alpha, IL, 2 sons, John Willis of Viola, IL, Craig Willis of Rio, IL, 7 grandchildren, Alyssa, James, John, William, Elizabeth, Allison and River. 2 sisters, Twyla (Greg) Smith of Swedona, IL, Marsha (Carl) Timmerman of Abingdon, Il, 2 brothers, Kenn (Barb) Willis of Nekoma, Il, Keith (Mitzi) Willis of Sherrard, Il, a sister-in-law, Frances (Kenneth) Link of Lynn Center, IL, a special friend Joe McWilliams of Swedona, Il, several nieces and nephews.
