John "Jack" D. Scott, 79, of New Windsor, Illinois, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Galesburg. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 in the New Windsor Cemetery. Following the graveside, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the New Windsor Presbyterian Church where memorials may be left to New Windsor Presbyterian Church or New Windsor Fire Department. Jack was born December 23, 1934 in Seaton, IL to Frank and Anna Elizabeth Danielson Scott. He graduated from New Windsor High School in 1952. He married Nancy Shull Litton on January 31, 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was employed at Crop Production Services in Viola for 53 years, retiring in 1996, but continued seasonally for several years. He was a member of New Windsor Presbyterian Church, enjoyed gardening and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, one daughter: Kim Jones of New Windsor, IL and one son, Craig Scott of Milan, IL, step children: Kathleen Litton of Florida, Kristine (Randy) Holland of Florida, Terry Litton of Woodhull, James (Charyse) Litton of Woodhull, Ray Dean (Kirstin) Litton of New Windsor, IL, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, three sisters, Betty Needham of California, Norma Brooks of Aledo and Clara (Larry) McCreight of Aledo, one brother, Everett Verne (Mary) Scott of Winterhaven, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Lola and Mary Jane, one brother: Frank Jr.
