Janice J. Bartelt, 75, of Aledo, IL, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services are 4:00 PM Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is from 2-4 PM Sunday prior to services at Fippingers where memorials may be left to Genesis COPD Rehabilitation Department. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
She was born August 12, 1938 in Centerville, Iowa to Norman and Leona Carter Butrick. She graduated from Maryville High School in Maryville, MO and attended Northwest Missouri State University. She married James E. Bartelt October 1, 1965 in Maryville, MO.
Janice was a homemaker and was employed at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo as food service supervisor retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Community Bible Fellowship and enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, acrylic painting, gardening and was an avid Cardinals and Bears fan.
She is survived by her husband: Jim; three daughters: Michelle McDaniel of Aledo; Heidi (Chris) Hesthaven of Gig Harbor, WA; Amanda (Adam) McMillin of East Moline, IL; four grandsons: Michael and Kyle Wardlow; Clint McDaniel; and Jacob McMillen; two nieces and 1 nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
