James Unsworth

James H. Unsworth, 93, of Aledo, Illinois died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis. Services are 10:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Candor Cemetery, rural Seaton where graveside military rites will be conducted. Visitation is from 2 - 5 PM Sunday at Fippinger's where memorials may be left to the Center Presbyterian Church of Seaton, Illinois. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

He was born December 2, 1922 in Shanghai (rural Alexis), Illinois to C.I. and Frances Stevens Unsworth. He graduated from Seaton High School. Jim married Betty L. Peterson February 8, 1948 in Aledo, IL. Betty died July 28, 2013.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII in Germany and Austria. He farmed his whole life in Kirkwood, Little York and the Seaton area, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church in Seaton and the Mercer County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed camping and especially being with his family.

Survivors include one daughter: Susan Unsworth Morenz of Chatham, IL; four sons: Steve (Becky) Unsworth of Auburn, IL; David (Kathy) Unsworth of Alexis, IL; Dennis Unsworth of Richardson, TX; Gary (Terri) Unsworth of Seaton, IL; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife and one sister, Doris Roush preceded him in death.
