Jack C. Babcock

Jack C. Babcock, age 90, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Thursday April 6, 2023 at the Crest Health Care Center in Davenport.  Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Friday April 14, 2023 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Davenport.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the Church.  A luncheon in Fellowship Hall will follow the service, and burial is 2:00 PM at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be left to the St. John's United Methodist Church.  Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, IL is in charge of arrangements and online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

Jack was born September 30, 1932 in Britt, IA to Clayton and Marguerite Stokesbary Babcock.  He attended the Garner, IA schools and married Ardis M. Holmes December 30, 1956 in Montour, IA.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea from 1953-1955.

Jack began his career in 1955 at AAA of Iowa as a sales representative.  He was promoted to district manager, vice-president of field operations, director of membership an insurance sales and retired as Executive Vice-President in 1991.

His memberships include St. John's United Methodist Church, Quad City Woodturners, Sons of Norway and the Quad City Sales Executive Club. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening and especially traveling.  Jack was a million mile air traveler and drove in over 30 different countries. 

He is survived by his wife, Ardis, children:  Dr. Todd Babcock of Girard, IL; Renee (Fred) Ware of Ft. Mill, SC; Tim (Judy) Babcock of Williston, TN;  Ann (Scott) Fippinger of Marquette, MI;  9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister Joan Post of Woodinville, WA; several nieces and nephews.

His parents, step-father, Titus Menke, 4 sisters and 2 brothers preceded him in death.
