Helen Dorothy Jones, 90, of Belleville, IL. Formerly of Viola, IL died Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Funeral services are 11:30 AM Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor, IL. Burial is in the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 AM until time of services Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Calvary Lutheran Church or the Hope Church in Belleville. Helen was born September 25, 1922 in New Windsor to Edwin and Dora Vanstrom Peterson. She married Marlin F. Jones September 4, 1943 in New Windsor. He died Nov. 2, 1992.
She was a lifelong, active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor, Il and in recent years was an active participant and attendee of Hope Church in Belleville, IL.
Helen is survived by 2 sons, James (Bonnie) Jones of Belleville, IL, Edwin (Laura) Jones of Blacksburg, VA, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Katherine Jones of Aledo, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, infant daughter Alma Kay and brothers Herbert and Harland Peterson preceded her in death.
