Harold H. Vest

Harold Henry Vest Jr., 78 of Rio, Illinois passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. Harold was born on April 20, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Phyllis Taylor Vest and Harold Vest Sr. He graduated from Bell Gardens High School in California. Harold served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Petty Officer 3^rd Class. He married Brenda VanDeWostine on November 4, 1974 in Alpha. She passed away January 30, 2019.

In his spare time, Harold enjoyed fishing and watching baseball.

He is survived by his daughter, Dannitta Marie VanDeWostine-Paster; 2 sons, Bryent and Brendyn VanDeWostine; 2 grandchildren, Zion and Aedyn; 2 brothers, Michael and Ron Vest; 1 sister, Judy Barlow; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
