Gary M. Mitchell, age 68, of Aledo, Illinois died Monday February 14, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island, IL. Cremation has been accorded. Friends may greet the family from 4-7 PM Monday February 21, 2022, at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Private burial will be later in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Millersburg, IL. Memorials may be left to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Aledo. Online condolences can be made at fippingerfuneralhome.com.

He was born April 7, 1953, in Aledo to Fred Jr. and Betty Frerkes Mitchell. He graduated from Aledo High School.

Gary began his career as a Printer with the Times Record in Aledo. He was later employed at DeSaulniers Printing in Milan, IL and retired from Agi Vaco Printing in Jacksonville, IL.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing all sports in his younger years.  He loved to build and remodel and was an excellent pool and dart player.

Survivors include three daughters, Julie (Mike) Trickey of Colona, IL, Nicole Mitchell of Davenport and Carrie Mitchell of Aledo; one son, Jason Mitchell of Aledo, 10 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 3 brothers, Tim Mitchell and Tom (Marcy) Mitchell both of Aledo, Rick (Jessie) Mitchell of Fulton, MO and several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.
