Ferris C. Schrock, 90, of Eliza, IL died Monday, March 4, 2019 at home. Services are 10:30 AM Friday March 8, 2019 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Eliza Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger's where memorials may be left to Eliza Creek Cemetery or Eliza Ladies Aid. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
She was born May 13, 1928 in Eliza Township to Victor and Bernice Crapnell Noble. She graduated from Joy High School. Ferris attended Augustana College for two years and graduated from Marycrest College in Davenport. Ferris married Ernest L. Schrock May 8, 1949 in Eliza.
Ferris began her teaching career in the one-room schoolhouses: Bayview and Eliza Creek. She then taught at the Eliza Grade School and retired from New Boston Elementary in 1988.
She was a member of the Eliza Community Church, Eliza Ladies Aid, American Legion Post #1971 Auxiliary, Illinois Education Association and a charter member of the Essley Noble Museum.
Ferris enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, attending her grandchildren's activities and especially being with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Ernest; three daughters: Diane (Chuck) Prill of Muscatine, Iowa; Susan (Dan) Rhule of Holton, Kansas; Elaine (Jeff) Clawson of Nashville, Tennessee; one son: Curtis (Lori) Schrock of Kirkwood, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; Ernest’s brothers and sisters and their families; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Eugene Noble.
