S. Evelyn Young, 100, of Aledo, IL died Saturday June 9, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo. Graveside services will be1:00 PM Monday June 11, 2012

She was born August 8, 1911 in rural Edgington, IL to Marion and Lottie Elliott Pearson. She attended the Union School, graduated from Brown's Business College and married Charles Young September 5, 1931 in rural Edgington. He died in 1980.
Evelyn was employed at the Insurance Exchange Agency in New Windsor, IL for 26 years retiring December 31, 1986 and was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Hood of Aledo, IL, 4 grandchildren, Elaine Wheeler of Seaton, Il, Lorraine Seibert of LeClair, IA, Laura DeForest of Hamilton, IN, Bobby Jett of Kodak, TN, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a sister Verlee Thornton of Aledo and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, daughter Karen Randall and 1 brother preceded her in death.
