Evelyn M. Runbom, 85, of Reynolds, IL died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at home. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Fippinger Funeral home in Aledo. Burial is in the Eliza Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fippinger's where memorials may be left to the Eliza Creek Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
She was born January 24, 1931 in Conesville, Iowa to Earl and Gladys Thornton Hollenbeck. She attended Reynolds High school. She married Richard Runbom September 4, 1949 in Reynolds, IL. He died June 11, 2009.
Evelyn was a homemaker. She was caretaker to the Tommy Marple family and Violet Hintermeister. Evelyn was employed as a nurse's aide at Comfort Harbor in Milan and Friendship Manor in Rock Island, Illinois.
Evelyn was a member of The Eliza Community Church and the King Foundation in Rock Island. She enjoyed collecting Isabel Bloom figurines, being outdoors and especially caring for her family.
She is survived by one son, Dennis Runbom of Reynolds, IL; and cousins Barbara (Darrell) Myers of Milan; Shirley Parchert of Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Kevin and aunt, Lucille Mack who raised her from the age of three.
The family would especially like to thank Martie Dixon for her caregiving to Evelyn.
