Ernestine R. Sedig age 87 of Aledo, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Mercer Manor Rehabilitation in Aledo. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Ernestine Riddell was born June 22, 1935 in Aledo, the daughter of Ernest H. and Nelle Aaronson Riddell. She married David U. Sedig on December 4, 1954 in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1985.

Ernestine worked as a CNA at the Mercer County Nursing Home for 23 years. She retired in August 2002. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Aledo

She very much enjoyed the dogs she had over the years, including Penny, Schultzy, Abby, and Lucy, among others.

She loved spending time with family and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters, Lorena Johnson, Roberta Ogren, and Donna Johnson.
