Elfriede Storl

Elfriede Hanna Laura Storl, 100, of Aledo, IL died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Genesis Senior Living in Aledo. Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be at the Aledo Cemetery. There is no visitation. In lieu of any flowers or gifts, a donation may be offered to the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo. Elfriede was born May 25, 1917 in Crimmitschau, Germany to Carl Friedrich and Martha Paul Schmidt. She was educated in Germany and completed her studies at the German Gymnasium. On April 5, 1941, she was united in marriage to Gerhard A. Storl in Crimmitschau. He died October 31, 2006.

Elfriede, Gerhard and their son immigrated to the United States of America in 1954. They lived in Spencer, Ohio where she was a homemaker and well known for her flowers, garden and baking. They moved to Aledo in 1991.

She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo and a former member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Spencer.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Heidi Storl and William F. Desmond of Aledo, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Wolf Dieter and Christine Storl of Isny, Germany; 4 grandchildren: Ingo, Ingrid (Lisa), Marta, and Klaus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 sister.
