Francis "Dennis" Ryan, 73, of New Windsor, Illinois died Monday, December 14, 2015 at home. Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday December 18, 2015 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. Burial is in the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in New Windsor. Visitation is 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home where memorials may be left to the New Windsor Fire Department or the Depot Park Committee. Dennis was born March 30, 1942 in Rivoli Township, Mercer County, Illinois to Francis Adelbert and Ida Mae Swanson Ryan. He graduated from Winola High School and never married.
He was employed at John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan for 30 years.
Dennis was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia and drinking morning coffee with friends.
Dennis is survived by two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Clark and Julie (Gary) White, all of Bettendorf, Iowa; one niece: Brenda Clark of Bettendorf; two nephews, Michael Clark of Boone, Iowa; Bryan Clark of Bettendorf, Iowa; several great nieces and nephews, several cousins and his dog, "Buddy".
He was preceded in death by his parents.
