Deanna L. McCurdy, 74, of Alpha, Illinois, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at home. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services are 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. Friends may greet the family from noon until the time of service. Private burial will follow in the Alpha Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Alpha Cemetery Association or the Oxford Township Fire Department. She was born July 19, 1939 in Mendon, Missouri to Robert and Elizabeth Collins Lambert. She graduated from AlWood High School. She married Richard McCurdy June 1, 1962 in Alpha.
Deanna was a homemaker and worked at Form Fit in Monmouth and Protexol in Galesburg.
She was a member of the Alpha United Methodist Church. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a collector of many collectibles. Deanna loved to shop for all. She was a very generous woman. Deanna took great pride in making her home beautiful.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law: Todd and Julie Dean-McCurdy of Moline, IL; Mark and DeAnna McCurdy of Alexis, IL; two grandchildren: Samuel McCurdy of Alexis, IL and Macy McCurdy of Moline, IL; one sister: Linda (Lester) Zuidema of Alpha, IL; two sisters-in-law: Mary Hayes of Green Valley, AZ and Martha Welch of Alpha, IL.
Her parents; one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
