Clyde L. "Pat" Malone, 92, of Aledo, Illinois died Friday April 26, 2013 at the Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:00 PM Tuesday April 30, 2013 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 PM Monday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Memorials may be left to the Mercer County Fair. Pat was born April 29, 1920 in Strawberry Point, Iowa to Clyde A. and Maude E. Carr Malone. He graduated Manchester High School in 1938 and married Lavanda G. Smith. She died in May 28, 1981. He then married Marcella Moseley Ryan September 23, 1982 in Aledo.

He came to Aledo in 1939 where he and his brother Edwin owned and operated the American Petroleum Service Station in Aledo. In 1965 he began a career in Insurance and Real Estate owning the Malone Agency in Aledo until retiring in 1995. His love of auctioneering led him to Clerk for many years with Lane Hyett and Bud Henderson

He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo and was a member of MERCO where he was instrumental in the development of the Apollo addition in Aledo. Pat was a former member and treasurer of the Mercer County Fair Board and cared deeply for the Aledo community and its people.

He enjoyed collecting coins, pocket knives, pocket watches and fountain pens.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella, many special nieces and nephews and a special friend Lane Hyett. His parents, wife Lavanda, brother Edwin and sister Lillian Barnd preceded him in death.
