He was born July 3, 1946 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Vincent and Josephine Spinler Matejcek. He attended the local schools.
Charles was employed at JI Case in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He enjoyed NASCAR and working on cars.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelly (Dan) Hagberg of Wapello, Iowa; Karen Matejcek of Aledo; one son, Chuck (Paula) Matejcek of Davenport, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Josephine Martinez of Faribault, MN; one brother, Bernard Matejcek of Waseca, MN; several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Kimberly, seven brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
