Charlene Seefeld, 96, of Aledo, IL. Died Monday July 22, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo. Services are 10:30am Wednesday July 24, 2013 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Hamlet Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Fippingers where memorials may be left to Hamlet Cemetery Association or
the Mercer County Food Pantry.

She was born April 2, 1917 in Duncan Township Mercer County, IL to Charles and Gertrude Mader Close. She graduated from Aledo High School and married Edward T. "Bill" Seefeld April 21, 1938 in Aledo. He died February 12, 2002.

Charlene was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm having delivered eggs to area residents for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aledo and a former member of the Hamlet Perryton Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed bowling, sewing, gardening and especially her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Marilyn (Roger) Higgins of Bradenton, FL. Carol Roper of Morton, IL, Lee Ann Green of Bettendorf, IA, 1 son Charles Seefeld of Joy, IL, a daughter-in-law Linda (Howard) Andress of Aledo, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Husband, 1 son Dean, and daughter-in-law Rose Seefeld and 2 son-in-laws Rudy Green and John Roper preceded her in death
