Beverly Barman

Beverly J. Barman, 93, of Woodhull, Illinois, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at home. Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at United Church of Woodhull. Burial is in the Clover Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Memorials may be left to the United Church of Woodhull or the Clover Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

She was born December 11, 1921 in Kewanee, Illinois to Joseph and Edith "Joy" Hill Nicholson. She graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1939. Beverly married Virgil "Bud" Barman February 14, 1942 in her parents' home in Wethersfield. He died July 19, 1993.

Beverly and her husband farmed for the majority of their lives together in the Woodhull/Clover Chapel community, retiring off the farm and moving to Woodhull in 1983.

She was a member of the United Church of Woodhull and a former member of the Clover Chapel United Methodist Church. Beverly was a past member of FAN (Friends and Neighbors Club) in the Edwards River community.

Beverly enjoyed traveling, taking care of her home and Saturday evenings with friends.

Survivors include four sons, Randall (Doris) Barman of Rio, IL, Ronald (Rosalie) Barman of Rock Island, IL, Dennis (Alice) Barman of Cambridge, IL, Douglas Barman and Lois Gerard of Bradford, IL, 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren, two brothers, Myron (Betty) Nicholson of Pinole, CA, Benny (Janett) Nicholson of Aumsville, Oregon, two sisters, Margaret (Frank) Maxwell of Oregon, Bonnie Darnell of Alaska, several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband and a brother preceded her in death.
