Betty L. Moran, age 87, of Aledo died Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Services are 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 1 hour prior to the services at Fippinger's where memorials may be left to Serenity Hospice. She was born May 6, 1925 in Springfield, IL, a daughter of Clement and Willamena Dutz Ward. She received her education from the local Springfield schools and married James Moran September 13, 1952 in Chicago. He died July 2, 2004.
Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting.
She is survived by one sister: Alice Easley of Aledo, several nieces and nephews, including: Wanda Crawford, Sandy Easley, Faith Gillespie, John Easley, Peggy Barnhouse, all of Aledo; Jan Coulter of New Boston; Larry Easley of San Antonio, TX; and Martha Swank of Rock Island, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
