Betty Miller

Betty Jo Miller, 91 of Illinois City, IL and the Eliza area, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Muscatine, Iowa. Services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday March 27, 2018 at Fippinger’s where memorials may be left to the Eliza Community Center or the Eliza Ladies Aid. She was born January 23, 1927 in Aledo to John and Mary Butcher Vance. She graduated from Aledo High School and attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Davenport, Iowa. On April 16, 1949 she married Ronald B. Miller in Aledo.

Betty was employed as a registered nurse and worked at the Mercer County Hospital and Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo. She retired as an industrial nurse at Thatcher Plastics in Muscatine, Iowa.

Her memberships included the Westmer Larger Parrish and the Eliza Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed fishing, sudoku, crossword puzzles and her pets.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; one daughter: Darcy (Randy) Relander of Aledo, IL; three sons: Steve Miller of Fresno, TX; Ron (Robin) Miller of Monmouth, IL; Scott (Jill) Miller of Phoenix, AZ; 3 grandchildren: Kelly Jo, Travis and Cody; 3 great granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
