Andrew G. Harmon, age 66, Of Aledo, Illinois died Sunday March 31, 2013 at the Genesis Senior Living in Aledo, Illinois. Graveside services are 10 AM Wednesday in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Andy was born November 13, 1946 in Monmouth, Illinois to Kenneth "Fuzz" and Mary Alice Baker Harmon. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1965.
He was employed at Deere & Company in Moline for 30 years retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the NRA and he enjoyed Trap shooting, Hunting, go carts and NASCAR. In his early days he raced cars and motorcycles at Cordova and he was an avid Chicago Bears Football fan.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Keri Doherty of Arma, KS, Shannon (Wil ) Thomas of Burkburnett, TX, 1 son Joe ( Lori ) Harmon of Springfield, MO, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 sister Kathleen (James) McChesney of Aledo , several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Billie Harrison-Holt of Aledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
