Amanique Sproston, 25, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
Amanique was born May 14, 1995 in Detroit, Michigan to Tennessa (Palmer) Knox and Lennon Jones Jr. She graduated from Galesburg High School and Monmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was working towards her master’s degree in early education. Amanique married Cody Sproston May 9, 2020 in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was a substitute teacher with the Lombard School District and a paraprofessional. Amanique coached the middle school volleyball team. She was a peaceful, free-spirited and dependable person. Amanique enjoyed music, photography, taking naps, watching tv and being with her family. She was always there to make you smile.
Amanique is survived by her husband, Cody of Galesburg; mother, Tennessa (Paul) Knox of Maquon; siblings, Demarko Taylor of Michigan, Diamonique (Matthew) Hayburn of Monmouth; Amberlynn (Nicholas) Griswold of Monmouth, Aurion Jones of Galesburg, Courtney Patterson Jr. of Inkster, Michigan, Cournesha Patterson of Maquon, Cailyn Patterson of Maquon, Ca’Mir Patterson of Maquon, Paul Knox of Galesburg; grandparents, Dorothy and Lennon Jones Sr. of Roseville, Michigan and Martharine Palmer; one niece, Zy’Riah Hayburn; two nephews, Konner Hayburn and Malakai Patterson; one uncle, Aaron Jones; best friend, Kayla Moore.
She was preceded in death by her infant twins, father and grandfather, Wesley Palmer Jr.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2021 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, IL. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.
