Alta C. Ericson, age 91, of Aledo died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Services are 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Fippinger's where memorials may be left to the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo or the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Alta was born September 19, 1920 in Reynolds, Illinois a daughter of Charles and Emma Babcock Schlueter. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1938 and married Everett Ericson January 3, 1939 in Aledo. He died in 1986.

For over 40 years she assisted her husband in the operation of their farm in the Perryton Township area near Aledo. She was also employed for many years at the Reynolds Telephone Company and the Mercer County Treasurers Office in Aledo.

She was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, WELCA and enjoyed serving on various church committees throughout the years. Alta enjoyed knitting, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and was active for many years in Republican Politics

Survivors include her daughter Janice (Jerry) Hall of Aledo, granddaughters, Michelle (Byron) McDuffee, South Elgin, IL, Mia (Seth) Eddy of Oswego, Il, great granddaughters, Peyton and Blaire McDuffee, of South Elgin and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband 1 sister and 6 brothers preceded her in death.
