James Kadel

February 25, 1944 — February 3, 2021

James Lee Kadel, 76, of Joy, IL passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at home.  Visitation is 1-5 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo.  Masonic services will immediately follow the visitation.  Private family services will be at Fippinger Funeral Home and private burial will be in the Buffalo Prairie Cemetery.  Memorials may be left to the family to be used towards the great grandchildren’s college funds and online condolences may be left at fippingerfuneralhome.com.

Jim was born February 25, 1944 in Muscatine, Iowa to Leonard and Bernadine McGinnis Kadel.  He graduated from Joy High School in 1962.  Jim was united in marriage to Glenda Monson February 1, 1964 in Nashua, Iowa.                                                                         .

He owned and operated the family farm and Kadel Agri Refinishing for over 50 years.

Jim was a member of the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge #679 and Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian Church.

He loved farming and his family.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda; one son, James Lamont (Julie) Kadel of Edgington; two daughters, Elizabeth Sharon “Ann” (Mike) Dixon of Aurora, Illinois; Christine Lynn (Ron) Rooth of Joy; six grandchildren, Ashley (Deven Olson) Rooth, Austin J. Rooth (Shelby Downey), Tyler Dixon, Austin P. (Karli) Dixon, , Sarah (Steven) Dunlop, Kristin (Jake) Kadel; three great grandchildren, Della Rose, Rowan James and Ashton James; one sister, Joyce (Don) Hanks of Lone Tree, Iowa; one brother, William (Donna) Kadel of Buffalo Prairie, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Wilbur Ripley.
