Gale D. Bramlett, 71 of Rio, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull. Burial will be in the Woodhull Cemetery. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Memorial contributions may be left to Clover Public Library District or Bethany Lutheran Church. He was born June 20, 1950 in Galesburg, IL to Cecil and Verna Derry Bramlett. Gale graduated from Knoxville High School and received his associate’s degree in accounting from Carl Sandburg College. Gale graduated from Monmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He married Rene Swanson December 27, 1985 in Galesburg.
Gale was employed as an inspector at Galesburg Rubber Company. He owned and operated Bramlett Produce Company for over 30 years. He was well known as a buyer and seller of produce throughout Illinois and Michigan. Gale loved to keep busy and enjoyed assisting Rene at the Clover Public Library and helping with her quilting business.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Clover Investment Club, which he founded and was treasurer, and was a member of the Knox County Scenic Drive. Gale enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Rene; two daughters, Tina (Becki Eatch) Mattingly of Silverdale, Washington; Hilary (Matt) Fairbrother of Rio, IL; four sons, Aaron Bramlett of Rio, IL; Andrew (Tessie) Bramlett of Arvada, Colorado; Jeremy (Allison) Bramlett of Altona, Illinois; Ryan (Ashley) Bramlett of East Galesburg, IL; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine (Joel) Aldrich; Rebecca (Jeff) Aldrich; two brothers, Gerald (Linda) Bramlett; Dennis (Marcia) Bramlett, all of Galesburg, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
