M. Lorraine Pickrel, 86 of Woodhull, IL died Tuesday November 14, 2017 at home. Services are 1:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull, IL. Burial is in the Viola Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

She was born June 2, 1931 in Viola, Illinois to Lloyd and Irma Drake Maynard. Lorraine graduated from Viola High School. She was united in marriage May 21, 1950 to Donald D. Pickrel in Viola, IL. He died March 26, 1999.

Lorraine was a homemaker. She was employed in the housekeeping department at the former Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley and later at Pioneer in Woodhull.
She was a former member of the Viola Presbyterian Church and currently attended Faith Family Church in Orion.

She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and attending her family’s events and sports activities.

She is survived by four daughters: Linda (Robert) Schmeer of Kissimmee, FL; Anita Pickrel-Monkus of Orion, IL; Christine Dolan and Jeanine Pickrel, both of Woodhull, IL; one son: Steven (Pam) Pickrel of Woodhull, IL; special family friend: Russell Drake; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Mary Maynard of Viola, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband: Donald; three sons: Stanley, Cecil and Troy; one granddaughter: Jessica Lorraine Thompson; one grandson: Jason Pickrel; two sisters; and five brothers preceded her in death.
